Wensum Riverfly Program and Results update Sept 2024
Following the changes we undertook in July with a new approach to H&S and goverance under the Wensum Community Organisation, we have been engaging the volunteers to bring them up to date with personal protection equipment and Dennis has ran his first accredition training cource held at Worthing Lakes.
We currently have 15 active volunteers following this review from a group of 29, that equates to one site each which we would like to bolster further. Remember each kick sample requires a team of two people.
Each volunteer is provided with their own personal protection kit, this includes chest waders, life vest, protective gloves and safety throw lin, with a value of £125. We can only provide this to people who will actually use it, but do have more available for people willing to take an active role in the project.
So if you or know of potential volunteers willing to get involved please get in touch.
