Wensum PhD study Part 1 Environmental Pollution
Calum Ramage has published his first paper and thsis following 3 years of study on the rivers Wensum and Tone.
This focusses on pesticide pollution and the impact on ecology.
- Highlights
• Imidacloprid and Clothianidin exceeded EQS throughout both rivers
• Numerous pesticides were found to be widely bioaccumulating in fish and invertebrates
• Pesticides in water pose significant chronic toxicity risks to aquatic invertebrates
• Sediment pollution poses significant chronic and acute toxicity risks to wildlife
There is quite a bit of quite technical science and take in within this report and any possible actions we may wish to consider.
